English Language Challenges

Imagen
The truth is that I feel that making blogs and videos speaking in English have helped  me a lot, because they have helped me, on the one hand, to learn to think in English  and on the other hand, to build meaning from orality, which is also more difficult,  because it implies handling something more naturally, since writing is a less fluid  process, and therefore more intermittent. In summary, I am happy with these semester  achievements in this subject. The aspects of English that I should improve, in my opinion, are speaking, since I  can communicate via text messages with someone in English and without so many  complications, on the other hand, speaking costs me more, because I block myself  and do not know occur what words to express. And I think the only way to solve this  is by speaking English with friends who if they handle it well, I honestly think I  will. Outside of the subject, English is useful to me, since there are many tutorials, news  and information that are only av

POST 7: Changes to my Study Program

In my opinion, one of the biggest problems in film and television at ICEI is the  curriculum. From my point of view, it is not well planned in order to strengthen  an artist's vision. There are many subjects that have to do with journalism, more  than with what is properly artistic, in my opinion, the subject of aesthetics  should exist throughout the career (Aesthetics 1, 2, 3, and 4, at least).  I understand that any other art career exists in this modality, and the problem  with this is that in general the filmmaker knows very little about art, does not  understand the importance of being able to relate ethics, politics and aesthetics,  does not understand its dimension philosophy, nor its impact on understanding  contemporary cultural phenomena. Another weak point in my opinion is the imbalance that exists between the  importance of practice and theory, in my opinion these two aspects are not  sophisticated enough to prepare the student. I think that all branches of cinema

post 6: Time Travel to the Future

The truth is that I do not believe much in the future. If it were up to me, only the present  would exist.   It is assumed that there are certain languages, such as German, in which the future and the  present, in their grammatical form, are overlapping. So apparently, the way of seeing time  is only a linguistic issue. Time, therefore, is a way of accessing the world, and in reality, present, past and future  are the same unit. However, if I had to resort to my imagination and could project myself into the future,  I think that what I would most like to witness would be the end of the world.  I would like to see how every face of the earth disintegrates and how all possibilities  are fading away. Perhaps at that moment a totally new world will emerge, because the truth  is that this world seems to me the worst of hells.

POST 5: My Future Job

I sincerely find work to be one of the worst evils in the world. The word "trabajo" in Spanish comes  from "Tripalium" which in Latin means "torture". However, since you cannot live without working,  and criminal life can be very stressful, I think that cinema can be a good way to work. What interests  me most is editing, art direction and filmmaking. While I like this profession, I would not like to depend solely on this job, because I would also run the  risk of hating it. This is why I would like to have a business of any kind, so as not to have to depend on  the cinema to make money, and thus not have to accept projects reluctantly and misrepresent  my profession. In this way I could also diversify my hobbies, since I also really like making music,  traveling and theory. In relation to this last point, I would like to get a doctorate related to art theory, so  if I get bored of making movies I can dedicate myself to research and publishing in magazin

POST 4: My Favorite TV show

Imagen
I have never been someone who watches a lot of television, however, one of the tv show that I  have enjoyed the most has been the first season of True Detective. This series based on two  detectives Martin Hart and Rust Cohle, whose lives will intersect when a case about an enigmatic  and sordid murder of seventeen years ago is reopened. The interesting thing about this series is that the most important thing is not to unveil the mystery,  but rather about how these two detectives  being affected by all the cruelty that surrounds the crime.  This investigation puts both men in contact with a dark and perverse world in which women and  children are sacrificed by satanic cults that come out unscathed because they know that no one  will care about these victims, since they have the means to ensure that their crimes are not  investigated. My favorite part of the series is when Rust Cohle sees a black hole in some abandoned buildings. It is  not known whether it was really a physical, metap

POST 3: A person I would like to meet

I am not someone who admires many people, less people I do not know, however, I consider that  Leonor Silvestri is a woman worthy of admiration. She is an Argentine philosopher who studied  literature, but did not want to graduate from university, to forge a self-taught career, publishing  a dozen books. His greatest intellectual influences are Deleuze and Spinoza, although she is  always adding new thinkers who are not within the Western theoretical tradition. Another admirable side of Leonor is that she releases all her classes on YouTube, leaving at least  one hundred videos available, where she explains various topics. This fact is even more remarkable,  when we consider that Silvestri suffers from Crohn's syndrome, which prevents her from leading  a normal life, due to the fact that this disease destroys the digestive system. However, this disease  has never weakened her spirit, since she is also an athlete who practices Muay Thai. This disease  has made her stronger and has m

POST 2: My Life Soundtrack

Imagen
Music is a very important element in my life, because it's capable of modifying my state of mind  and leading me to very powerful states of consciousness. Since I was a little kid  I have been  linked to music, because  I played some instruments, and from that moment I began a musical  search. I was always attracted to different musical styles, however, little by little music began to have a  different meaning for me; The lyrics of the songs no longer interested me, and I was only attracted  to the sounds, the clashes of forces, vibrations and sound waves capable of transporting you to  totally unknown and mysterious places, as if it were a magic potion. An artist who has been able to provoke what I named above is William Basinski. This composer  usually makes repetitive songs, infinite loops, which, like a mantra, surrounds you in a  magical environment that I cannot describe in words. One song that has struck me specifically  is Disintegration Loops 1.1. This musical piece
